Wendy and DB Announce New Album, Giv 'Em Roots and Wings, Coming in 2027!

Grammy-nominated children's music duo heads back into the studio this December, with exciting new collaborations and more blues-inspired music for families.

Big things are growing for Wendy and DB! The Grammy-nominated children's music duo is excited to announce their upcoming album, Giv 'Em Roots and Wings, set for release in 2027.

Known for their infectious energy, interactive performances, and unique blend of blues, jazz, and roots music, Wendy and DB continue to create music that inspires children and families to sing, dance, learn, and connect.

Back in the Studio, Growing Something New

This December, Wendy and DB will head back into the recording studio to begin bringing Giv 'Em Roots and Wings to life.

The new album will continue the duo's tradition of blending meaningful messages with irresistible rhythms, encouraging young listeners to embrace their individuality, explore the world around them, and find joy through music.

And there's even more exciting news! Wendy and DB are writing new music with acclaimed blues and roots artist Ruthie Foster, bringing together their shared passion for storytelling, creativity, and the power of music to connect generations.

Building on a Grammy-Nominated Legacy

With eight albums and years of bringing the blues to young audiences, Wendy and DB have established themselves as pioneers of children's blues music.

Their Grammy-nominated album, Into the Little Blue House, introduced even more families to their signature sound, while subsequent releases have continued to celebrate imagination, community, kindness, and the joy of making music together.

Now, Giv 'Em Roots and Wings marks the next chapter in their musical journey.

What's Next for Wendy and DB?

While the new album takes shape, Wendy and DB will continue bringing their high-energy, interactive performances to libraries, schools, festivals, and family-friendly venues across the country.

With limited winter performance dates remaining and spring and summer 2027 bookings underway, there's plenty of opportunity to experience Wendy and DB live while waiting for the new music.

And this is just the beginning! Fans can look forward to behind-the-scenes studio updates, special collaborator announcements, and sneak peeks as the album comes together.

Where We'll Be next:

2026 Community Rising Concerts/Wendy and DB

Closing the year 2025 and heading into 2026 would normally be a time of hope and new beginnings but many families have been effected by the ICE activity and if not directly folks are experiencing needless stress and turmoil in their communities and in their homes. We decided that we wanted to bring our positive messages to some of the neighborhoods most hit by regular visits by masked men calling themselves ICE agents.

Wendy and DB with the help of @chicagofederationofmusicians and the Music initiative trust fund partnered with the Chicago Public Library and Foundation to bring these concerts to communities and libraries in Chicago. Our hope is to raise up the LOVE! We understand that our mission is to continue to bring positivity, hope, music education and LOVE rising to the community, library and the families they serve.

Hate cannot survive while kids are laughing, love is rising and families are joyful! #LOVEWINS #communityrising #wendyanddb #chicagopubliclibrary #chicagofederationofmusicians
